At Liberty Grove Schools, we are committed to fostering academic excellence and innovation among our diverse student body. In alignment with our mission to remove labels and redefine success, we are excited to introduce the “Next IT Girl” club to our campus. This initiative aims to inspire and empower young women of color to explore and excel in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
About the “Next IT Girl” Club
The “Next IT Girl” club is a dynamic program designed to provide educational opportunities to 15 students through monthly meetings from August to May. The club offers a variety of activities, including:
- Project-Based Learning: Engaging students in hands-on projects that apply STEM concepts to real-world scenarios.
- Technical Portfolio Building: Assisting students in creating portfolios that showcase their technical skills and projects.
- Accelerator Programs: Providing intensive sessions focused on specific STEM topics to deepen understanding and skills.
- Career Readiness Experiences: Offering insights into STEM careers through workshops, mentorship, and industry exposure.
The primary goal of the club is to cultivate a passion for STEM among young women of color, encouraging them to pursue and succeed in technology-related careers.
